Job description

Oversee the complete accounting and finance operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, timely closure, and compliance. Supervise day-to-day accounting activities covering sales, purchases, receipts, payments, journal entries, general ledger, cash, and bank transactions . Manage and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities. Prepare and review Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Cash Flow Statements, and other financial reports . Ensure accurate accounting of vehicle sales, spare parts, accessories, service revenue, insurance income, commissions, discounts, warranty claims, and related transactions . Monitor and control accounts receivable and customer outstanding , including ageing analysis and collection follow-up. Monitor vendor payables , payment schedules, credit terms, and timely settlement of supplier accounts. Review and approve bank reconciliation, cash reconciliation, customer/vendor reconciliation, and ledger scrutiny . Ensure proper accounting and reconciliation of vehicle inventory, spare parts, accessories, and workshop-related inventory . Coordinate with the Sales, Service, Purchase, Stores, HR, and Operations teams to resolve accounting and financial issues. Take responsibility for GST compliance , including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, input tax credit reconciliation, and GST-related reconciliations. Manage TDS compliance , including deductions, payments, return filing, reconciliation, and resolving notices or discrepancies. Coordinate with statutory auditors, internal auditors, tax consultants, GST consultants, and other professional advisors . Prepare and provide required schedules, statements, supporting documents, and explanations during audit and tax assessments . Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other statutory requirements . Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls to prevent errors, fraud, revenue leakage, and unauthorized transactions. Review accounting entries and ensure that all transactions are supported by appropriate invoices, approvals, and documentation . Prepare and present MIS reports to senior management covering sales, gross margin, expenses, receivables, payables, cash flow, profitability, and business performance. Analyze financial data and provide management with insights regarding cost control, profitability, working capital, and operational performance . Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections, and variance analysis and report significant deviations to management. Monitor daily cash flow and fund requirements and coordinate with management for effective working-capital planning. Identify financial risks, accounting discrepancies, and process gaps and implement appropriate corrective and preventive actions . Lead the month-end and year-end closing process and ensure all provisions, accruals, depreciation, outstanding expenses, and adjustments are properly accounted for. Supervise, train, and guide the accounts team , allocate responsibilities, review work, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. Establish accounting processes and SOPs to improve accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time . Maintain proper control over financial records, statutory documents, contracts, invoices, and confidential financial information . Coordinate with banks and financial institutions for banking transactions, documentation, statements, and finance-related requirements . Support management in financial planning, business analysis, cost optimization, and strategic decision-making . Ensure timely submission of all management reports, statutory returns, audit requirements, and financial statements . Continuously review accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and better financial controls . Key Areas of Responsibility 1. Budget vs. actual analysis. Expense and cost analysis. Management dashboards and financial insights. 6. Team Management Supervision and performance monitoring of the accounts team. Work allocation and review. Training and process improvement. 7. Internal Controls & Audit Strengthening accounting controls. Periodic reconciliation and verification. Coordination with internal and statutory auditors. Ensuring compliance with company policies.
