Job Title: VTL Operator Department: Production Job Type: Full-Time Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled VTL Operator to operate Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines for machining heavy engineering and precision components. The candidate should be able to read engineering drawings, perform machining operations, and ensure quality standards are maintained. Key ResponsibilitiesOperate Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) machines safely and efficiently. Load and unload workpieces using appropriate lifting equipment. Read and understand engineering drawings and process sheets. Set up tools, fixtures, and workpieces as per job requirements. Monitor machining operations and make minor tool offset corrections. Inspect finished components using measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, and Bore Gauge. Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish according to specifications. Record production and inspection details. Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance. Follow safety procedures, quality standards, and 5S practices. Coordinate with supervisors and the quality team to achieve production targets. RequirementsITI (Turner/Machinist/Fitter) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. 1–5 years of experience as a VTL Operator (Freshers may apply if trained on VTL machines). Knowledge of engineering drawings and measuring instruments. Basic understanding of CNC VTL operations and machine controls is an added advantage. Willingness to work in rotational shifts. Preferred SkillsStrong attention to detail. Good problem-solving ability. Team player with a positive attitude. Commitment to quality and workplace safety.
