At Nexera, we are building a natural language powered research platform for professional traders to find answers to their questions, backtest and automate their strategies. We are looking for a strong and talented Software Engineer to join our Founding Team.

Summary

As our Founding Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping our technology stack, engineering culture, and product architecture. This role requires a highly capable backend engineer who is comfortable with ambiguity, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is excited about wearing multiple hats—ranging from writing code to managing the tech team and even attracting talent.

What You’ll Do

Own and build resilient, high-performance backend servers and APIs, ensuring scalability and fault tolerance (not necessarily microservices).

Work with large tick-by-tick datasets to power our platform, requiring strong architectural decisions and optimizations.

Design and optimize both SQL and NoSQL databases, implementing effective caching strategies for performance.

Take full ownership of projects with minimal oversight—driving technical decisions and delivering impact quickly.

Collaborate across functions, working closely with product, frontend, and devops while also engaging with customers when needed.

Set the bar for future engineers, defining best practices and contributing to the company’s engineering culture.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in backend development, building clean, high-performance, and resilient systems.

Strong proficiency in Go, C++, or Rust for backend development.

Deep experience with cloud platforms, infrastructure, and deployment strategies.

Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms, with the ability to solve complex technical problems efficiently.

Quick learner who thrives in an unstructured, high-ownership environment and is comfortable switching between different roles as needed.
