Senior Backend Developer (MERN)

We are looking for a skilled and motivated MERN Stack Backend Developer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining the server-side logic, databases, and APIs that power our platform. As part of a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features, optimize performance, and ensure the scalability and security of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js and Express.js.

Integrate MongoDB for database management and implement efficient data models and queries.

Build reusable and scalable code and libraries for future use.

Collaborate with front-end developers to design and implement RESTful APIs that power the user interface.

Work on user authentication, authorization, and data security.

Optimize applications for speed and scalability.

Ensure the responsiveness and reliability of all server-side services.

Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolve technical issues, and provide regular maintenance.

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Participate in code reviews, contributing to team best practices and continuous improvement.

Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

Collaborate with Product and Design teams to implement new features and improve existing ones.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as a backend developer using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js).

Strong proficiency in Node.js and Express.js for building server-side logic and APIs.

Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, with a strong understanding of database design and optimization.

Familiarity with RESTful API design and development practices.

Experience with Git for version control and collaboration.

Solid understanding of authentication mechanisms, such as JWT, OAuth, etc.

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) and deployment strategies.

Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and microservices architecture is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug and optimize code.

Experience in Agile methodologies and working in an agile development environment.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus Skills:

Experience with GraphQL.

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing tools.

Familiarity with front-end technologies like React.js to understand the full stack.
