Senior Power BI Developer (Remote)

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that drive data-informed decision-making across the business. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and enterprise data integration, along with strong communication skills to coordinate directly with clients, and the ability to mentor junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reportsDevelop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIsBuild and optimize data models using star and snowflake schema designPerform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query (M Language)Connect Power BI with enterprise data sources including SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, APIs, Excel, and SharePointOptimize report performance and troubleshoot data/report issuesImplement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage Power BI Service workspacesPartner with business stakeholders and clients to gather and translate reporting requirementsMentor junior developers and contribute to overall BI solution architectureRequired Skills & Experience3-4 years of hands-on Power BI development experienceStrong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, SQL, and data modelingExperience with relational databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQLSolid understanding of ETL processes and performance tuningExcellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate directly with clients and stakeholdersBasic understanding of Object-Level Security (OLS) in Power BI (not mandatory, but working knowledge is a plus)Experience with Incremental Refresh (Incremental Load) and DAX optimization for large datasetsHands-on experience handling large datasets (4GB+) in Power BI/Power Query, along with performance and query optimization techniquesExposure to big data platforms such as DatabricksStrong working knowledge of DAX queries and functionsFamiliarity with Power BI MCP Server and AI-driven features (e.g., Copilot in Power BI, natural language querying via MCP)Preferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with Microsoft FabricKnowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Azure SQLMicrosoft Power BI CertificationEligibility CriteriaImmediate joiners only — maximum notice period of 15 daysMust be available to work the 4:00 PM – 11:40 PM IST shiftComfortable working in a 100% remote setupExcellent communication skills, as the role requires regular coordination with clients
