PINION - Tinder for Politics meets WIkipedia for Public Opinion About Pinion ([hidden] Civic engagement is way too hard. Pinion is a new platform and community where you can easily find and vote on legislation/topics you care about at local, state national and global levels. Easily Share your "Pinion" to social media if you like or remain private, view results, and track your representatives to see how well they are representing your interests - plus compare candidates running to replace them in the next election so you can see "who is voting with me".

Our tag line, "Tinder for politics meets Wikipedia for public opinion" describes our vision. When we share our idea most people say "I can't believe this doesn't already exist". About the position - Pinion is creating a user oriented, interactive environment that utilizes our innovative user engagement mechanism. Our goal with this position is to find an individual who can set up and create QA/QC methods that give us the rigor that we need for publishing the application both to the web and our mobile platform.

An ideal candidate for this position will be comfortable working in a remote startup environment. A self-motivated team player who works well with other team members and can adapt to fast-changing environments will thrive. You should reliably have available bandwidth to be able to communicate with teammates and work on development tasks.

Responsibilities and Duties

Candidate will be performing content-based Quality Assurance/Quality Control. They will be building JIRA cases for issues identified on internal and external web/mobile content.

Upon launch, candidate will be on front line of customer-facing concerns and routing technical issues to development team.

Be familiar with CSS, React, Node. Be able to identify FE vs. BE issues and suggest solutions to start troubleshooting process.

Participate in Product Management, governance, and review discussions.

Qualifications

Must have experience level with a mix of our core environment: Linux, React, SQL Server, Entity Framework. Node.js.

Experience with JIRA, GIT.

Good team player and willingness to engage with teammates, get to know them and create a collaborative working environment.

Available bandwidth - We understand life that happens, jobs change, families require time and we expect to accommodate this but you should expect to consistently contribute about 10 hours per week, with more welcome.

Compensation - Please Note: We are a true early stage start up (pre-funding/pre-revenue) and all working for future equity only (no salaries yet) using the Slicing Pie methodology ([hidden] to fairly allocate equity in the company. This role is intended to grow into a full-time salary+bonus+equity position in the future as we gain funding and revenues. Also, Angel List requires that this post be classified as a "Cofounder" in order to post on the site. While you will be part of our founding team, this is NOT a legal employment offer for a "cofounder role" - all of our team members are on contractor work agreements. Finally - this is a flexible fully remote position. An ideal candidate should be self-sufficient, with the bandwidth to reliably contribute, interested in our technology and mission, and comfortable with our early stage, “boot strapping” startup status.
