Job Title : Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET)Experience : 5 to 10 YearsLocation : Bengaluru (5 Days Work From Office)Working Days : Monday to Friday (5 Days a Week)Notice Period : Immediate to 15 DaysInterview Process : 2 Technical Client RoundsRole Overview :We are looking for a Senior SDET with strong expertise in Backend/API Automation Testing for Microservices-based applications.The ideal candidate should have experience building scalable automation frameworks, validating distributed systems, and integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines.Mandatory Skills :Java, Backend Automation Testing, API Automation, REST Assured, Microservices, TestNG, JUnit, Maven / Gradle, CI/CD, SQL, Kafka / RabbitMQ / SQS, Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, Distributed Systems, Grafana / Prometheus / Kibana / Splunk.Preferred Skills :AWS / GCP / Azure, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, WireMock, Pact, JMeter, Gatling, k6, Python, Shell Scripting.Key Responsibilities :Design and maintain API/backend automation frameworks.Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.Automate testing for microservices and event-driven architectures.Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.Validate asynchronous workflows using messaging systems.Collaborate with Development and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.Mentor QA engineers and improve automation best practices.Required Skills & Qualifications :5+ years of experience in Software Testing with a strong focus on Backend / API Automation.Hands-on experience testing Microservices-based applications.Strong expertise in REST API testing using REST Assured, HTTP Client, Postman, or similar tools.Excellent programming skills in Java with hands-on experience developing scalable automation frameworks.Strong experience with TestNG, JUnit, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD integration.Hands-on experience validating asynchronous workflows using Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS SQS, or similar messaging platforms.Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle, including complex queries and joins.Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.Experience validating applications deployed in Ephemeral or dynamic test environments.Good understanding of distributed systems and backend application architecture.Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana, or Splunk.Strong understanding of software design principles, automation architecture, and test automation design patterns.Preferred Skills :Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra.Knowledge of contract testing, service virtualization, and mocking tools such as WireMock or Pact.Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure.Experience with performance and resilience testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.Working knowledge of Python or Shell scripting.
