Job description
WhyWave is building a voice AI companion for children ages 3 to 5 that never
puts a screen in front of the kid. That constraint pushes almost all of the
interface work onto the parent's side: setting up the device, deciding what
topics and values the companion should follow, checking in on what their kid
has been asking about lately.
Paid, project-based internship — compensation gets discussed directly rather
than posted here. The product itself targets English-speaking markets, but
the internal team runs on Russian day to day, so English isn't required to
work here, and Russian speakers have an edge.
You'd work on things like:
the parent's setup and configuration flow, which is the entire visible UI
of a product that has none for the child
a way to let a parent set "values and topics" without filling out a
hundred-field form
what happens between unboxing the device and the first real conversation
Requirements: Figma, a portfolio of shipped work.
You'd get real, shipped design decisions on an early product and a founder
who'll actually explain why something got decided the way it did. Do well,
and there's a real chance of continuing with the project after the
internship.
If designing around what's NOT there sounds more interesting than another
dashboard apply through Wellfound.
