Software Development Engineer 2(Backend – Java)Location: (5 days WFO) Andheri Kurla Road, AndheriEast, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400093Experience: 3–5 YearsFunction: Software Engineering → Backend DevelopmentAbout CompanyThe Company is a B2B fintech neobank simplifying business banking and credit for Indian businesses.We believe that Indian businesses — both small and large — are financially underserved, andour mission is to empower them through powerful B2B financial products.Our offerings include:● Business current accounts● Corporate credit cards● Payment collection reminders● Working capital management tools● Payroll automation● Invoice tracking● Rewards/cashback on account transactions and balancesWe are building financial infrastructure that helps Indian businesses access liquidity, manageoperations seamlessly, and scale confidently.Role OverviewWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer 2 (Backend – Java) to design, build, andscale robust backend systems and APIs that power company's fintech platform.The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java-based backend development,a solid understanding of system design principles, and experience building scalable, securefinancial systems.Key Responsibilities● Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and RESTful APIs using Java● Implement business logic, data models, and algorithms to support product features● Ensure high reliability, scalability, and performance of backend systems● Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices● Debug and resolve production issues and application defects● Collaborate with QA teams to define and execute test cases● Work closely with product managers and frontend teams to translate requirements intotechnical solutions● Contribute to architecture decisions and continuous improvement of developmentprocesses● Stay updated with emerging backend technologies and fintech trendsTechnical RequirementsCore Backend Skills● Strong proficiency in Java● Experience with Spring / Spring Boot● Hands-on experience with Hibernate / JPA● Experience building RESTful APIs● Strong knowledge of Servlets, JSP● Understanding of MVC architectureDatabase & Storage● Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases & SQL● Experience with ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)● Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)● Understanding of caching mechanismsTesting & Development Practices● Experience with JUnit, TestNG, Mockito● Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD)● Strong understanding of SDLC & Agile methodologies● Proficiency with Git● Exposure to CI/CD practices
