Junior Backend And Platform Engineer - Internship (WFH)

About the internship:Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Build and maintain API endpoints in Python using Django and Django REST Framework

2. Work on the pipeline that reads uploaded lab reports, extracts values like HbA1c, fasting glucose and lipid levels, and maps them to standard medical codes

3. Design and query PostgreSQL schemas, and write migrations as the data model grows

4. Write tests that lock the scoring engine, so a change next month cannot quietly alter someone's health score

5. Implement ownership and permission checks, so a member can only ever read their own records and a doctor only sees the patients assigned to them

6. Work with Docker and AWS basics for deployments and staging environments

7. Keep backend documentation and runbooks current, so the next person can pick it up

8. Take part in code reviews with the senior engineer, who owns and reviews all authentication, scoring and OCR work

9. You will be handling real medical data, so care matters more than speed here.
