Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable backend services using FastAPI

Build modular APIs for internal and external applications

Design data models and database interactions using Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL

Implement complex business logic and workflows

Integrate third-party APIs and services

Identify and resolve backend performance and reliability issues

Contribute to backend architecture and technical decisions

Collaborate with frontend and infrastructure engineers on application delivery

Must Have

5+ years of professional backend development experience

Strong proficiency in Python

Production experience with FastAPI

Hands-on experience with Pydantic and SQLAlchemy

Strong experience working with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases

Experience designing and implementing REST APIs

Experience integrating third-party APIs and implementing complex business workflows

Good understanding of asynchronous programming and concurrency in Python

Ability to work independently within an existing codebase and make sound technical decisions

Good to Have

Experience with Celery, Dramatiq, Redis, or RabbitMQ

Familiarity with event-driven architectures

Experience with distributed systems

Experience with workflow orchestration

Exposure to Next.js or modern frontend frameworks

Experience building SaaS products or internal business applications

Experience with AI/LLM integrations or AI-powered applications

Experience with backend performance optimization and scaling
