Analysedrawings, BOMs, specifications, and manufacturing requirements to arriveat component costing.

Understandand calculate costs related to:

Rawmaterial

Machining

Fabrication

Sheetmetal processing

Labourand overheads

Benchmarksupplier quotations against calculated costs and negotiate accordingly.

Identifycost-reduction opportunities through VA/VE, process optimization,material alternatives, and supplier development.

TechnicalEvaluation

Readand understand 2D mechanical drawings, GD&T, material specifications,and BOMs.

Discussmanufacturing feasibility and costing with suppliers.

Workclosely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Design teams for newcomponent development.

Evaluatesupplier process capabilities and manufacturing methods.

Quotation& Commercial Negotiation

Obtainand analyse techno-commercial quotations from suppliers.

Preparecomparative statements and negotiate price, tooling, MOQ, payment terms,lead time, and delivery conditions.

Ensurepurchases are made at competitive and technically justified prices.

Supportsourcing activities for new products and engineering changes.

Coordinatewith suppliers for prototype/sample development.

Tracksample submission, approval, and transition to regular production.

Identifyopportunities for annual cost savings.

Conductsupplier negotiations based on cost breakdown and market benchmarks.

Developalternate suppliers and alternate manufacturing processes whereverfeasible.

RequirementsRequired Experience & Skills

MechanicalEngineering graduate with 4 years of experience in Mechanical Sourcing /Strategic Procurement / Purchase.

Experiencein sourcing mechanical components from manufacturing suppliers.

Strongunderstanding of mechanical manufacturing processes and raw materials.

Abilityto work out component costing from drawings and manufacturing processes.

Goodknowledge of cost estimation / should-costing / target costing.

Abilityto read and interpret mechanical drawings and BOMs.

Strongsupplier development and negotiation skills.

Experiencein identifying alternate suppliers and developing new sources.

Goodanalytical and commercial skills.

Proficiencyin MS Excel; experience with ERP systems .
