Job description
About the job:
As a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Manager - Sales Enablement at Koncept Global Books (Arihant Publications), you will be responsible for leading and managing the central CRM team that supports the sales organisation across territories. You will act as a key link between the field sales team and management, ensuring that sales activities are effectively planned, tracked, followed up, and executed. Your role will focus on strengthening sales discipline, improving productivity, ensuring CRM adoption, providing actionable management insights, and enabling the sales team to achieve better market and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead & Manage the CRM Team: Manage the central CRM team, define responsibilities and workflows, monitor team performance, and ensure timely completion of all CRM, follow-up, and reporting activities.
2. Sales Team Coordination & Enablement: Work closely with Sales Executives, BDMs, RSMs, and other sales leaders to understand their day-to-day requirements and ensure that the CRM team provides timely support for school visits, sampling, follow-ups, pipeline movement, and other sales activities.
3. Central Sales Activity Monitoring: Establish a central monitoring mechanism for tracking daily sales activities across territories, including planned vs. actual visits, school coverage, sampling, follow-ups, opportunities, selections, and orders.
4. Sales Pipeline & Follow-up Management: Ensure that opportunities are continuously tracked and that critical follow-ups are not missed. Review pending, delayed, and stalled cases and coordinate with the sales team to drive timely action.
5. CRM Governance & Data Accuracy: Ensure proper CRM usage and data discipline across the sales organisation. Monitor data accuracy, completeness, timely updates, duplicate entries and unusual activity patterns, and establish processes for maintaining reliable CRM data.
6. MIS, Dashboards & Management Reporting: Oversee the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly dashboards and reports covering individual, territory and overall sales performance. Ensure that management receives accurate and actionable information on time.
7. Exception & Red-Flag Monitoring: Establish a structured mechanism to identify gaps and exceptions such as missed visits, overdue follow-ups, inconsistent reporting, unusual activity levels, policy deviations, and stalled opportunities. Ensure these are appropriately highlighted and escalated.
8. Process & Policy Compliance: Monitor adherence to defined sales processes, CRM SOPs, reporting timelines, and company policies. Work with Sales leadership to address recurring deviations and ensure corrective actions are tracked to closure.
9. Sales Performance Analysis: Analyse CRM and sales data to identify trends, productivity gaps, territory-level opportunities, high-potential schools, conversion issues, and areas requiring management intervention.
10. Coordination with Sales Leadership: Work closely with Sales Heads, ZSMs, RSMs, and BDMs to share insights, highlight concerns, and support better decision-making. Ensure that important market and field-level information reaches management in a structured manner.
11. Sales Process Improvement: Continuously review CRM workflows, reporting formats, monitoring mechanisms, and escalation processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and strengthen sales execution.
12. Team Training & CRM Adoption: Ensure that the CRM team and sales team understand the CRM processes, reporting requirements, SOPs, and dashboards. Drive adoption and ensure that the CRM is used as a sales enablement tool rather than merely a reporting system.
13. Escalation & Action Management: Define and manage the escalation process for serious or repeated deviations, including warnings, red flags, show-cause processes, and management actions, wherever applicable under company policy.
14. Management Support & Business Insights: Provide management with a clear view of what is happening in the field, not only through reports, but through meaningful observations, trends, risks, and opportunities that can support business decisions.
