Staff Engineer, GCP Big Data Engineer

REQUIREMENTS:

Total experience: 6+ years.Excellent knowledge and experience in GCP Bigdata Engineer role.Strong working experience with architecture and development in Spark, Python/Pyspark, GCP (Bigquery, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions etc.), SQL.Strong programming proficiency in Python.Expertise in SQL with experience writing complex, high-performance queries.Hands-on experience with Google BigQuery (must have).Practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including:Cloud FunctionsCloud RunCloud WorkflowsStrong understanding of ETL/ELT design, data transformation, and workflow automation.Experience working with large-scale distributed data systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Architect, design, and implement scalable, high performance data pipelines across structured and unstructured data sources.Develop robust ETL/ELT workflows using Python, SQL, and GCP-native services.Build and optimize BigQuery data models, partitioning strategies, and performance tuning.Leverage GCP Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, and Workflows for orchestration, automation, and microservices-based data processing.Lead design discussions on data architecture, warehousing strategies, and best practices.Implement and manage dbt transformations including testing, documentation, and lineage tracking.Perform advanced data profiling, quality checks, validation, and partner with stakeholders to resolve data issues.Collaborate with data analysts, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to ensure reliable data availability and governance.Mentor junior team members and contribute to cross functional technical leadership.Ensure compliance with security, governance, scalability, and performance standards. .
