Manufacturing Engineer Powertrain (Digital Process Planning)

We are looking for a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to support digital process planning and manufacturing execution for powertrain components (engines, transmissions, electric drive units, battery systems).

This role focuses on transforming engineering data into manufacturing-ready processes using digital manufacturing tools, while also supporting shop-floor implementation, line balancing, and plant launches.

1. Digital Process Planning

Create and manage Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) from Engineering BOM (EBOM)Develop Bill of Process (BOP) and structure manufacturing sequencesBuild process trees, define operations, and assign workstationsGenerate and maintain electronic work instructions for shop-floor useMap tools, fixtures, and resources to manufacturing operations2. Manufacturing Optimisation

Perform line balancing and cycle time analysis to improve throughputConduct time and motion studies to identify value-added vs non-value-added activitiesOptimise plant layout and workflow using digital toolsSupport plant-specific configuration of manufacturing processes3. Change Management & Collaboration

Update MBOM, process flows, and documentation based on engineering changesWork closely with Product Development, IT teams, and plant operationsSupport system testing (UAT) and digital tool enhancementsMaintain manufacturing data in enterprise systems4. Tooling & Launch Support

Define technical requirements for tooling, fixtures, and equipmentSupport supplier interactions, technical reviews, and equipment buy-offUse virtual manufacturing tools for layout validation and ergonomicsSupport shop-floor installation, commissioning, and production ramp-upEnsure compliance with safety and ergonomic standards Required

Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial / Automotive Engineering14 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineeringBasic understanding of automotive manufacturing processes (assembly/powertrain)Ability to interpret engineering drawings and CAD models (GD&T knowledge preferred)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsGood communication and cross-functional collaboration abilityPreferred (Nice to Have)

Experience with Teamcenter / EasyPlan or similar digital manufacturing toolsExposure to EBOMMBOM transformation and BOP creationFamiliarity with time studies and line balancingKnowledge of PFMEA and control plansExposure to electrified powertrain manufacturingSix Sigma certification (Green Belt/Black Belt)Experience in plant launch or equipment commissioning .
