Java Developer - Backend Engineering

At StrideOne, you'll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where innovation, ownership, and continuous learning are encouraged.About the Role We're building Credit Engine, a lending platform on top of Apache Fineract that powers credit assessment, disbursement, repayment, and portfolio management for our clients. We're looking for a Java Developer to help build and scale the backend services behind these workflows.What You'll Work OnBuild and maintain backend services for lending functions — organisation/office management, portfolio and product configuration, cash margin engines, and credit workflows.Design and consume REST APIs integrating with internal modules and external banking/financial partners.Extend Apache Fineract to support custom lending products and business rules.Design and optimize MySQL schemas/queries for transactional, audit-heavy financial data.Translate lending/credit policies (interest computation, grace periods, margin calculations) into tested, production-grade code.Debug production issues in systems handling real money movement, with focus on correctness and data integrity.Participate in code reviews and API/service design discussions.Must-Have Skills2+ years hands-on Core Java (Java 8+) — OOP, collections, concurrency basics.Experience building REST APIs with Spring Boot.Strong MySQL skills — schema design, indexing, query optimization, transactions.Understanding of transactional consistency, data integrity, and audit trails.Comfortable with Git-based collaborative workflows.Good to HaveExperience with Apache Fineract or similar core banking/lending platforms.Exposure to microservices, message queues, or event-driven systems.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD.Frontend exposure (Angular/React) for API contract collaboration.Prior experience in fintech, NBFC, banking, or supply chain finance
