Mechanical Engineer

About the job:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage and supervise daily activities on the manufacturing shop floor.

2. Allocate work to workers/labour and ensure timely completion.

3. Supervise machine assembly, fabrication, fitting and mechanical installation work.

4. Understand mechanical drawings and guide workers according to drawings.

5. Have practical knowledge of shafts, bearings, pulleys, belts, gearboxes, motors, pneumatic components, linear guides, ball screws, etc.

6. Monitor production progress and maintain daily work reports.

7. Coordinate with mechanical, electrical and fabrication teams.

8. Identify mechanical problems during assembly and help resolve them.

9. Check quality and accuracy of fabricated and assembled components.

10. Manage manpower efficiently and maintain discipline on the shop floor.

11. Coordinate with vendors/suppliers whenever required.

12. Ensure proper use of tools, machines and safety equipment.

13. Support machine testing, trial and final assembly activities.

14. Report daily production status directly to management.
