Job description

Key Pre-Opening Responsibilities

Cross-Departmental Synchronization: Drive the pre-opening timeline across the Front Office, Culinary, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Security teams to ensure absolute alignment before launch.

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): Author and deploy unified property-wide SOPs that balance rigorous luxury standards with the agile workflows required for bespoke guest activations.

Procurement & OS&E: Oversee the final budgeting, selection, tracking, and installation of all front-of-house and back-of-house OS&E.

Licensing & Compliance: Coordinate with legal and administrative teams to ensure 100% compliance with local municipal codes, health regulations, fire safety, and FSSAI standards before the grand opening.

Property Management & Systems Integration: Supervise the deployment and cross departmental testing of hotel technologies, including the Property Management System (PMS), POS terminals, and guest profile databases. Post-Opening Responsibilities

Experiential Operations Management: Manage the daily logistical framework that supports the hotels signature high-touch event sensuring staff, equipment, and resources seamlessly shift between beach dinners, farm-to-table setups, canap sundowners, heritage walks, picnics etc.

Financial Oversight and Yield Optimization: Monitor property wide P&L performance, labor metrics, and operating expenses to minimize waste while protecting the premium guest experience.

Quality Assurance and Guest Journey Tracking: Conduct routine audits of service delivery, physical property maintenance, and guest feedback loops to proactively elevate satisfaction and maintain pristine online review rankings.

Culture and Team Leadership: Cultivate a collaborative, high-performance work environment, overseeing continuous training programs, performance evaluations, and employee retention initiatives.

Safety and Security: Ensuring high level of safety and security for guests and the team. Ensuring mandatory Fire safety and first aid trainings for the team.

Ensuring compliance with code of conduct: Ensuring the team is compliant with the code of conduct. Any deviations must be dealt with urgently.

Team welfare: Ensuring the team facilities are always in good condition and addressing team issues diligently, sincerely and promptly.

Guest interaction: Meeting and interacting with every guest at the resort and building relationships.

SOP compliance: Ensuring consistent delivery and execution of SOPs and high level of guest services.

Sales and Marketing: Maintaining a keen eye on the market and identifying business opportunities. Meeting sales targets.

Brand establishment: Establishing The Long Afternoon and The Salty Mango as brands to recon with in the hospitality landscape. Qualifications and Skills

Experience: 6+ years of hospitality management experience, with at least 2 to 3 years as an Operations Manager, Resident Manager, or Director of Rooms/F&B within 5/4 star luxury properties or boutique experiential resorts. Prior pre-opening experience is desirable.

Market Knowledge: Comprehensive familiarity with Mumbai's luxury hospitality landscapes, labor networks, local vendor dynamics, and high-end guest expectations.

Strategic Acumen: Deep capability in financial forecasting, inventory mapping, operational modeling, and multi-departmental budget oversight.

Leadership Style: An adaptable, solutions-oriented leader who stays composed under pressure and thrives in an intimate, high-stakes boutique environment

Education: Bachelors or Master's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent professional field.

Key Performance Metrics : Pre-opening critical path milestone adherence and successful launch timing.

Property-wide cost control matching or beating initial pre-opening and launch budget projections.

Overall guest satisfaction scores (GSS) across stay experience, culinary, and bespoke activities. Multi-departmental staff retention rates and team safety audit scores.
