Role Description The Professor and Head of Hotel Management is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The role involves leading the Hotel Management department, planning academic activities, and overseeing curriculum implementation aligned with industry standards. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, mentoring students, supervising research, and promoting academic excellence in hospitality and hotel management. The Professor and Head will coordinate faculty, manage departmental operations, support accreditation and quality assurance processes, and foster collaborations with industry partners for internships and placements. Additional tasks include organizing seminars, workshops, and outreach activities, and contributing to the strategic development of the department and the University.

Qualifications

Strong expertise in University Teaching and Curriculum Development, with the ability to design and deliver high-quality hotel management and hospitality courses.Proficiency in Research within hotel management or hospitality-related domains, including guiding student projects and publishing in academic or professional journals.Knowledge of Organizational Behavior to lead the department effectively, manage teams, and contribute to a positive and inclusive academic culture.Understanding of Marketing concepts relevant to hospitality and hotel management, including the ability to integrate industry practices into teaching and departmental initiatives.Doctoral or masters degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.Demonstrated academic leadership experience, preferably as a Professor, Head of Department, or equivalent role in higher education.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills, with a commitment to inclusive and learner-centered pedagogy.Experience in industry collaboration, internship coordination, or placement support within the hospitality sector is highly beneficial.Ability to contribute to accreditation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of academic programs. .
