Job description

About the internship:We are looking for someone ambitious, proactive and entrepreneurial who wants to take ownership of their work, rather than only complete assigned tasks. You should be willing to plan and organize your assigned food trials, follow through on agreed next steps, flag problems early and bring practical ideas for improvement, while working within the agreed brief and guidance.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Help prepare ingredients and the workspace for a ai bowl and selected side-item trials, including washing, cutting, portioning and organizing ingredients as required.

2. Weigh ingredients accurately using kitchen scales and carry out trial batches using agreed recipes and preparation instructions.

3. Record each trial clearly, including ingredient quantities, preparation steps, portion sizes, batch yields and changes made to the recipe or method.

4. Observe and record taste, sweetness, texture, consistency and presentation. Note issues such as an overly runny base, uneven portions or differences between batches.

5. Prepare tasting samples, collect feedback and organize observations to help plan the next trial.

6. Contribute practical ideas for ingredient combinations, toppings and small recipe improvements. Test agreed changes and compare them with earlier versions, keeping a clear record of what changed.

7. Repeat shortlisted recipes to check consistency and help prepare clear recipe sheets with quantities, preparation methods and portioning notes.

8. Help maintain simple ingredient-cost and usage records using actual quantities and available purchase prices. Track leftovers and wastage during trials.

9. Keep trial notes, recipe versions and useful photos organized so each batch and its feedback can be identified easily.
