IP DRG Medical Coder

Key Responsibilities:

Assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and DRG classifications for inpatient medical records. Ensure coding compliance with CMS, UHDDS, and payer-specific guidelines . Review and interpret physician documentation to support accurate code assignment. Optimize reimbursement while maintaining coding accuracy and minimizing denials. Perform audits and quality checks to ensure 99% coding accuracy . Stay updated with regulatory changes, coding updates, and best practices. Collaborate with healthcare providers for proper documentation improvement (CDI). Work with revenue cycle teams to resolve claim denials related to coding errors.

Requirements:

Certification: CPC, CCS, or CIC (AAPC/AHIMA certified coders preferred). Experience: 1+ year in IP DRG medical coding . Skills: Strong knowledge of MS-DRG, APR-DRG, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology . Proficiency: Experience with EHR systems and medical coding software . Shift: Flexible (Night shifts may apply based on project requirements). .
