Job description
About the internship:Mechanical Engineering Intern Design & Design-to-Manufacturing
BRBS Reality
Are you a talented Mechanical Engineering student looking to gain real-world, end-to-end product experience? Join BRBS Reality and work across the full design-to-manufacturing lifecycle for our Smart IoT and construction-tech hardware not just CAD, but material selection, vendor sourcing, in-house prototyping, and hands-on concept validation.
We're looking for real problem-solvers people who can quickly iterate through multiple design approaches, test them, and converge on what actually works, rather than getting stuck refining a single concept.
What you'll do:
Design and model hardware components using SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360
Rapidly iterate through multiple design approaches to solve open-ended mechanical problems
Select and evaluate materials for performance, cost, and manufacturability
Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with vendors for prototyping and fabrication
Build and test in-house prototypes; run concept validation and iterate on findings
Travel locally to vendor/fabrication sites as needed to oversee prototype builds and quality
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues in collaboration with the engineering team
Support testing and validation of finished products for quality and durability
Document design processes, material specs, and vendor evaluations for future reference
Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions, contributing fresh ideas
Stay current on materials, manufacturing methods, and industry trends relevant to IoT hardware
What we're looking for:
Pursuing/recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering
Proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Fusion 360
Demonstrated ability to iterate quickly across design options not just execute a single spec
Comfortable working hands-on with prototypes, not just on screen
Willing to travel locally for vendor visits
Strong ownership mindset you'll be part of real product decisions, not just execution
Join us at BRBS Reality and take your first step into a career that spans design, materials, and manufacturing.Who can apply:Only those candidates can apply who:are available for full time (in-office) internshipcan start the internship between 23rd Sep'26 and 13th Nov'26are available for duration of 6 monthshave relevant skills and interestsare Mechanical Engineering studentsStipend:INR₹ 25,000 - 30,000 /monthDeadline:[hidden]:59:59Other perks:CertificateSkills required:AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Autodesk Fusion 360About Company:We are a stealth-mode product company founded by serial entrepreneurs with multiple successful exits, building pioneering smart devices and platforms for the US and global markets. Our products are engineered for massive scale with the potential to reach millions of units worldwide. We are engineering a sophisticated IoT consumer device for massive-scale deployment across American homes, hardcore hardware that must work flawlessly from day one, at scale, with zero margin for error.
Our engineering runs deep across the full hardware stack from intricate mechanical design and precision electronics (schematics through multi-layered PCBs), to ultra-low-power engineering and battery systems built for decade-long field life. We write real-time embedded firmware that performs deterministically under harsh conditions, architect multi-vendor IoT cores across protocols, and ship mobile applications that bring it all to life. No shortcuts. No patches. Just hardware done right.
