Law/Legal Associate - Fresher

About the job:We are looking for a Lawyer / Legal Associate (female) to join our legal team and handle customer-facing legal support, documentation, case review, and debt-related matters.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Indian legal procedures, consumer rights, banking/recovery practices, legal notices, and documentation, along with the ability to communicate clearly with customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Review customer cases involving unsecured loans and credit-card dues.

2. Examine loan documents, notices, statements, agreements, and other relevant documentation.

3. Provide customers with general legal guidance regarding their debt-related matters.

4. Assist customers facing inappropriate or unlawful recovery practices and harassment.

5. Review and respond to legal notices received from lenders, collection agencies, or other parties.

6. Prepare and review legal correspondence, notices, replies, declarations, undertakings, and customer documentation.

7. Maintain proper documentation and case records for every assigned customer.

8. Coordinate with customers to collect required legal and financial documents.

9. Assist in settlement-related documentation and communication.

10. Explain legal procedures and documentation to customers in simple, understandable language.

11. Monitor case progress and ensure timely follow-ups.

12. Coordinate with senior legal professionals/advocates wherever court representation or specialized legal action is required.

13. Ensure all customer communication remains professional, legally appropriate, and properly documented.

14. Stay updated with relevant RBI guidelines, consumer protection laws, recovery-agent regulations, banking practices, and applicable legal developments.

15. Work closely with the sales and customer-support teams to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to legal support.

Requirements:

1. LLB / BA LLB / BBA LLB from a recognized university.

2. Enrollment with the Bar Council will be an advantage.

3. 0-1 years of relevant experience preferred; fresh law graduates with strong legal knowledge may also apply.

4. Good understanding of Consumer protection laws, Banking and financial recovery practices, loan and credit-card documentation, legal notices and replies, contract basics, debt-recovery procedures, and Customer rights.

5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

6. Hindi and English proficiency is required.

7. Ability to handle sensitive and financially distressed customers professionally.

8. Strong documentation and drafting skills.

9. Good computer and MS Office/Google Workspace skills.
