Mechanical Engineer (Remote)

Position SummaryWe are a growing MEP consulting firm seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our remote team. You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of mechanical systems — primarily HVAC, plumbing, and piping — for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across California, Nevada, and Washington.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for new construction and renovation projectsPrepare construction documents, specifications, and engineering calculationsPerform load calculations (heating, cooling, ventilation) in compliance with applicable codesCoordinate with electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines for integrated design solutionsReview submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs from contractorsEnsure designs comply with California Title 24, ASHRAE standards, IMC, UPC, and applicable state and local codes Participate in client meetings, project kickoffs, and design reviewsMentor junior staff and support project documentationRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field3+ years of experience in MEP consulting or building systems designProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and mechanical design software (e.g., Trane Trace, HAP, or equivalent)Solid understanding of HVAC systems, plumbing design, and energy codesStrong knowledge of California, Nevada building codesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with energy modeling and Title 24 compliance documentationLEED accreditation or other green building certificationsExperience with advanced mechanical systems like VRF and DOASExperience with Navisworks for BIM coordinationExperience with construction administration CompensationCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceBenefits package including health, dental, and visionRemote work flexibility with collaborative team environment
