This role is suited to developers who enjoy solving technical problems, building reliable APIs, working with databases, and understanding how applications function beyond the user interface. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backend applications using Node.js and Express.js. Design, build, and integrate REST APIs. Work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other relevant databases. Implement authentication, authorization, and data validation. Integrate third-party APIs and external services. Write clean, maintainable, and reusable backend code. Troubleshoot bugs, API errors, and database-related issues. Assist in database design, queries, and performance optimisation. Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate application functionality. Support testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Use Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration. Document API endpoints and important technical changes. Identify technical problems and proactively suggest solutions. Required SkillsGood understanding of JavaScript. Basic practical experience with Node.js and Express.js. Understanding of REST APIs and HTTP methods. Knowledge of database fundamentals. Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MongoDB. Basic understanding of authentication and authorization. Familiarity with Git/GitHub. Ability to debug code and investigate technical issues. Understanding of asynchronous JavaScript.
