Database Developer 2+ Years Experience

Job brief:

We are looking for a qualified Database developer to design stable and reliable databases, according to our company’s and Client’s needs. You will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively.

As part of our IT team, you will work closely with developers to ensure system consistency. You will also collaborate with administrators and clients to provide technical support and identify new requirements. Communication and organization skills are keys for this position, along with a problem-solution attitude.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our database systems run effectively and securely on a daily basis.

Tech Stack :

PHP, POSTGRESQL, MYSQL, PL/SQL, PL/PGSQL, (PROCEDURES, VIEWS, TRIGGERS), MVC FRAMEWORK.

Responsibilities:

● Design and build advanced architecture.

● Will be writing complex queries for BI.

● Design, develop and implement database systems based on client requirements.

● Design stable, reliable and effective databases.

● Optimize database systems for performance efficiency.

● Prepare design specifications and functional documentations for assigned database projects.

● Perform space management and capacity planning for database systems.

● Modify databases according to requests and perform tests.

● Solve database usage issues and malfunctions.

● Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices.

● Gather user requirements and identify new features.

● Develop technical and training manuals.

● Provide data management support to users.

● Ensure all database programs meet company and performance requirements.

● Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols.

● Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.

● Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

● Bug fixing and improving application performance.

● Identify any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.

● Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.

● Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis.

● Troubleshoot database related issues in a timely fashion.

● Develop security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.

● Act as the gatekeeper for all database-related development from schemas to stored procedures to queries, including setting up access controls for all environments

Requirements:

● Proven work experience as a Database developer.

● In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)

● Knowledge of software development.

● Proven experience with POSTGRESQL, PL/PGSQL, MYSQL, PL/SQL.

● Excellent analytical and organization skills.

● An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude.

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

● Understanding of startup culture.

● Good team player, Quick learner.
