Job Description / Responsibilities

Study work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, and materials to plan machining operations.

Set up CNC/VMC machines by installing and adjusting tools, fixtures, and attachments including 3-jaw/4-jaw chucks.

Load raw materials and components using hoisting/lifting devices when required.

Verify machine settings by measuring first-off components and sample workpieces.

Operate CNC/VMC machines to perform turning, milling, drilling, grooving, tapping, facing, and threading operations.

Monitor the machining process to ensure accuracy, dimensional tolerance, and consistent output quality.

Make offsets and adjustments in tool positions, cutting parameters, feeds, and speeds as necessary.

Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and gauges.

Maintain accurate production reports, tool logs, and quality documentation.

Perform routine preventive maintenance of machines and ensure proper housekeeping of the work area.

Adhere to safety protocols, PPE usage, and company quality standards during all operations.

Communicate effectively with supervisors and maintain continuity across shift changes.

Expected Knowledge / Skills

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T symbols.

Knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, tool holders, and machining parameters.

Understanding of material machinability and appropriate selection of cutting fluids.

Hands-on experience with CNC control systems (Fanuc, Siemens, or equivalent).

Good understanding of basic programming (G-codes, M-codes) is an added advantage.

Ability to use precision measuring instruments.

Strong attention to detail and problemsolving skills.

Teamwork, communication skills, and willingness to learn new processes.

Basic computer literacy for logging production data.
