About the Internship:

Material Depot is looking for a detail-oriented Data Operations Intern to help maintain and improve its e-commerce product catalogue. You will work with product data, vendor catalogues, and internal teams to ensure customers find accurate, complete, and easy-to-understand information across categories such as tiles, laminates, panels, flooring, and wallpapers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with spreadsheets, organizing information, and solving data quality problems.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

A. Product Data and Listing Management

1. Collect and organize product information from vendor catalogues, spreadsheets, and internal systems.

2. Create, upload, and update product listings, including titles, descriptions, specifications, prices, and images.

3. Verify product attributes such as size, finish, material, colour, brand, product code, and application area.

4. Follow consistent naming conventions and category standards across the catalogue.

B. Data Cleaning and Quality Checks

1. Clean and standardize product data for bulk uploads.

2. Identify duplicate listings, missing information, inconsistent formats, and incorrect categorization.

3. Verify that product images, dimensions, codes, and specifications match vendor information.

4. Review listings for accuracy, completeness, grammar, and formatting before publication.

C. Vendor and Team Coordination

1. Coordinate with vendors to collect missing specifications, pricing details, catalogues, and product images.

2. Track pending information and follow up on corrections.

3. Work with category, design, operations, and technology teams to support product onboarding.

D. Tracking, Reporting, and Process Improvement

1. Maintain Google Sheets and Excel trackers for uploads, catalogue completion, and data issues.

2. Use formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data validation checks to manage information efficiently.

3. Assist with SQL-based data checks and reporting, depending on proficiency.

4.
