Principal Engineer - iOS Platform

Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly experienced Principal Engineer - iOS with strong expertise in designing, developing, and architecting scalable iOS applications. The ideal candidate should have excellent hands-on experience with iOS development, strong knowledge of application architectures, and a proven track record of building high-quality consumer or enterprise mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS technologies.

• Take ownership of application architecture, technical design, development, and delivery.

• Strong hands-on experience with MVVM, MVC and other relevant architectural patterns.

• Design scalable, maintainable, and reusable application components.

• Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, QA, and other engineering teams.

• Drive technical decisions and contribute to engineering best practices.

• Perform code reviews and mentor senior engineers and developers.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement solutions for application stability, scalability, and responsiveness.

• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide effective solutions.

• Stay updated with the latest iOS SDKs, frameworks, development practices, and industry trends.

Mandatory Skills :

• 9.5 - 14 years of overall experience in software development with strong expertise in iOS.

• Strong hands-on experience in iOS application development.

• Excellent proficiency in Swift and iOS SDK.

• Strong understanding and hands-on experience with MVVM / MVC architecture.

• Experience designing and developing scalable and production-grade iOS applications.

• Strong understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean architecture.

• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, networking, and third-party integrations.

• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Company Preference :

• Candidates must currently be working with a software product-based company.

• Candidates from service-based companies should not be considered for this requirement.

• Strong preference for candidates who have worked on large-scale, customer-facing iOS applications.

Good to Have :

• Experience with SwiftUI and Combine.

• Knowledge of unit/UI testing and automated testing frameworks.

• Experience with Apple App Store deployment and release processes.

• Exposure to mobile security, analytics, crash monitoring, and performance monitoring tools.

• Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical initiatives.
