QA Lead Virtual Sports (Manual & Automation)

Job Title: QA Lead Virtual Sports (Manual & Automation) Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced QA Lead to drive the quality assurance efforts for our Virtual Sports titles built in 3D Gaming Engines . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both manual and automation testing , excellent leadership skills, and a passion for ensuring a flawless player experience. This role involves managing a mid-sized QA team, establishing robust testing processes, and collaborating closely with developers, artists, and producers to ensure timely, high-quality releases. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, setting priorities and ensuring effective task execution. Plan, design, and execute test strategies for manual and automated testing of virtual sports titles. Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites specific to Unreal Engine projects. Collaborate with the development team to identify issues early in the pipeline and ensure efficient bug resolution. Ensure game builds meet functional, performance, and visual quality standards across multiple platforms (PC, console, and VR if applicable). Oversee continuous integration and automated testing pipelines , ensuring smooth build verification. Conduct performance and stability testing for real-time gameplay, animations, and environment interactions. Track and report defects using tools like JIRA and manage test coverage through test case management systems. Partner with production and development leads to assess release readiness and deliver QA sign-offs. Provide hands-on testing support during critical milestones and urgent delivery cycles. Must-Haves: 10+ years of experience in QA, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing QA teams. Proven experience of 4+ years in testing games built in Unreal Engine (preferably 5.x) . Strong understanding of manual testing , automation frameworks , and performance testing in a 3D game environment. Hands-on experience with automation tools such as Unreal Automation Framework (UAT), Selenium, or Python-based test frameworks. Solid understanding of game development pipelines , particularly for real-time simulation or sports gameplay systems or video games . Expertise in defect management and reporting tools like JIRA and test case management tools (TestRail, Zephyr, etc.). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality. Excellent communication and people management skillsable to mentor, motivate, and build a high-performing QA team. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments . Nice-to-Haves: Experience with Video games, Virtual Sports, Racing, Slot games or Simulation Games . Knowledge of Unreal Engine/Unity Engine Blueprint/Script debugging, profiling tools, or console commands . Familiarity with Perforce, Jenkins, or Git-based CI/CD pipelines . Exposure to PC/Web VR or AR testing , particularly for Meta Quest or similar platforms. Understanding of physics-based simulations and AI-driven gameplay systems . Passion for sports or e-sports titles. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and evolving project requirements. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to quality and player experience. Proactive communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical discussions effectively. .
