Principal iOS Engineer

We are seeking an exceptional Principal iOS Engineer to serve as the highest individual technical authority for our iOS platform. This role goes beyond leading a team; you will set the long-term technical vision for iOS at Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs, influence platform strategy at the organisational level, and ensure our iOS applications remain best-in-class across scale, quality, and innovation. You will be a trusted partner to Engineering Directors and Product leadership, and an inspiring mentor to the broader iOS engineering community.

Requirements:

11+ years of hands-on iOS application development experience with a demonstrable track record of shipping high-quality, large-scale consumer applications.Mastery of Swift and SwiftUI, including advanced memory management, Swift Concurrency (async/await, actors), and Combine.Deep proficiency in Objective-C for maintaining, bridging, and refactoring legacy codebases.Extensive experience architecting complex iOS applications using MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture, and Modular Architecture patterns.Proven ability to define and enforce platform-wide engineering standards and architectural governance.Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, system design, and distributed systems concepts as they apply to mobile platforms.Experience leading or technically directing cross-functional iOS engineering teams of 10+ engineers.Exceptional stakeholder management ability to partner with, influence, and communicate clearly with both engineering leadership and business stakeholders.Deep experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, web services, JSON, and mobile-backend integration patterns.Advanced experience with unit testing, UI testing, TDD/BDD, and building robust, resilient test suites.Strong command of CI/CD pipelines, mobile DevOps tooling (Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, Bitrise), and release automation. .
