Job Title: Junior UAV Hardware Integration Engineer
Location: New Delhi (On-site - Research & Innovation Park, IIT Delhi)
Job Type: Full-time
Experience Level: Entry level / 1–2 Years
Company Overview
At CoreShield Technologies, we build cutting-edge unmanned aerial system (UAS) platforms designed for performance, durability, and mission readiness. Based out of the Research & Innovation Park at IIT Delhi, we are a fast-paced team tackling challenging real-world hardware and robotics integration problems.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Junior UAV Hardware Integration Engineer to drive our multirotor drone platforms from bench testing to flight readiness. If you love building, wiring, tuning, and flying multirotors and want to work directly with flight controllers, power systems, and specialized sensors, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Component Sourcing & Selection: Evaluate and procure flight components (motors, ESCs, frames, batteries, RC link systems) from global and domestic suppliers.
Bill of Materials (BoM) Management: Prepare and maintain comprehensive BoMs covering frames, BLDC motors, propellers, flight controllers, telemetry, power distribution, and payloads.
Hardware Integration & Fabrication: Perform precision assembly, soldering, crimping, custom wiring harnesses, power distribution routing, and vibration-isolated mounting.
Flight Controller Integration: Flash, configure, and calibrate flight controllers (Pixhawk, Cube, Matek, MicroAir, or equivalent) with GPS, compass, telemetry, and battery monitoring modules.
System Sizing & Calculations: Calculate motor-propeller-battery sizing, thrust-to-weight ratios, payload limits, center-of-gravity (CoG) balancing, and flight endurance.
Flight Testing & Tuning: Validate basic flight modes (Stabilize, AltHold, Loiter/GPS Hold, Auto/Waypoints, RTL) and configure fail-safes (geofence, low battery, radio link loss).
Bench Testing & Maintenance: Conduct post-flight inspections, isolate hardware faults, repair damaged components, and maintain hardware build logs.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with software and AI teams to integrate companion computers, payload cameras, communication modules, and auxiliary sensors.
What We’re Looking For
Education: B.Tech / B.E. / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related field.
Experience: 1–2 years of practical experience (strong fresh graduates with hands-on drone-building/college project experience are highly encouraged to apply!).
Practical Skills: Solid understanding of BLDC motors, ESC protocols (DShot/PWM), LiPo/Li-ion batteries, flight control systems, and RC/telemetry links.
Bench Aptitude: Proficient with soldering, multimeters, crimping, connector assembly (XT60/JST/GH), and basic mechanical hand tools.
Software/GCS Exposure: Familiarity with ArduPilot or PX4 firmware ecosystems, Mission Planner, or QGroundControl.
Nice to Haves
Hands-on experience with ELRS / RadioMaster systems.
Basic CAD design or 3D printing experience for custom mounts/enclosures.
Experience analyzing UAV flight logs (.bin / .ulg).
Perks & Location
Workplace: On-site at the Research & Innovation Park, IIT Delhi, New Delhi.
Direct access to high-tech prototyping lab environments and testing facilities.
Opportunity to grow rapidly alongside a high-performing robotics team.
