AI Business Analyst (Mumbai)

About the Role

We are looking for an AI Business Analyst who can understand real-world business and finance workflows and figure out how AI and technology can make them dramatically better.

This is a client-facing, hands-on role at the intersection of business, finance, AI and software development. You will work directly with customers to understand how they operate, identify problems and opportunities, and translate their requirements into clear specifications that our technical team can build.

We are not looking for someone who only documents requirements. We want someone who is curious, experiments with AI constantly, challenges existing processes, and can creatively imagine better ways of working.

What You'll Do

Speak directly with customers to understand their business processes, pain points and requirements.

Study existing workflows and identify opportunities where AI, automation or software can improve them.

Translate business requirements into clear workflows, product requirements, user stories and technical requirements for developers.

Work closely with developers and AI engineers throughout implementation.

Test solutions from the customer's perspective and ensure they solve the intended business problem.

Prototype and experiment with AI tools to validate ideas quickly.

Research new AI capabilities and find practical ways to apply them to customer problems.

Help bridge the gap between customers, business teams and technical teams.

Participate in customer demos, discussions, onboarding and feedback sessions.

What We're Looking For

Background or strong understanding of finance, accounting, commerce or related business domains.

Very proficient with AI tools and genuinely interested in experimenting with new AI models, agents and workflows.

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

Ability to understand complex business processes and simplify them.

Ability to translate business needs into requirements developers can act on.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Comfortable speaking directly with customers.

Curious, creative and willing to experiment.

Ability to learn quickly and work independently.

Experience

Freshers are welcome.

Degrees such as B.Com, BAF, BFM, BMS, BBA, CA/CA Inter, MBA Finance or similar backgrounds can be a good fit, but we care more about your ability to understand business, use AI effectively and solve problems than your degree or previous job title.

Previous experience with business analysis, finance, accounting, SaaS, consulting, automation or technology is useful but not mandatory.

What Makes This Role Different

This is not a traditional Business Analyst role where your primary job is creating documents and attending meetings.

You will have significant freedom to explore, experiment and build.

You might spend one day understanding how a customer's finance team processes hundreds of documents, another experimenting with AI agents to automate parts of that workflow, and another working with developers to turn the idea into a product.

We encourage creativity, experimentation and ownership. If you discover a better way to solve a problem, you will have the freedom to pursue it.

Ideal Candidate

You may be a great fit if you:

Use ChatGPT, Claude or other AI tools extensively and are always experimenting with what they can do.

Enjoy understanding how businesses actually work.

Can comfortably have a conversation with a CFO/accountant/business owner and then explain their problem to a developer.

Ask good questions and can get to the root of a problem.

Prefer solving problems over simply following processes.

Are excited about how AI will change finance and business operations.

Work Location

This is a full-time, work-from-office role in Mumbai.
