Job description
A histopathologist is a medical doctor who diagnoses diseases by examining tissue samples and biopsies under a microscope. [1, 2]Key Responsibilities
Examine Tissues: Analyze tissue samples, organs, and biopsies to identify abnormalities, infections, or cancers.
Make Diagnoses: Use microscopes, molecular testing, and special stains to determine if a tumor is benign or malignant.
Write Reports: Provide clear, detailed diagnostic reports to help primary physicians and surgeons plan patient treatment.
Collaborate: Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases with oncologists, surgeons, and nurses.
