Job description
Job Overview:
Artikate Private Limited is seeking a UI/UX Designer who can carry a product from problem statement to production-ready interface, and who brings a considered point of view on brand and design philosophy rather than assembling screens from templates. Our work spans command and control interfaces, computer vision dashboards, and national-scale enterprise platforms — dense, high-stakes products where clarity and information hierarchy matter more than decoration. The ideal candidate is strong in both product design and graphic/brand design, and can articulate why a design decision was made, not just what it looks like.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Design: Own the end-to-end design process — research, user flows, information architecture, wireframes, high-fidelity interfaces, and interactive prototypes.
Interface Design: Design complex, data-heavy interfaces for web and desktop applications with a strong grasp of hierarchy, density, and state handling.
Design Systems: Build and maintain a component library, design tokens, and documented usage patterns to keep design and engineering aligned across products.
Brand & Identity: Develop and enforce brand guidelines — logo usage, typography, colour systems, iconography, and tone — across product and marketing surfaces.
Graphic Design: Produce marketing collateral, pitch decks, product one-pagers, diagrams, and technical illustrations to a professional standard.
User Research: Conduct user interviews, usability tests, and design reviews; translate findings into concrete design changes.
Developer Handoff: Deliver specification-complete files with redlines, assets, and states; work directly with frontend engineers through implementation and QA.
Design Rationale: Present and defend design decisions to stakeholders with clear reasoning grounded in user needs and product constraints.
Requirements:
Experience: 2–4 years of professional UI/UX design experience with shipped products in a portfolio.
Skills:
Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, auto-layout, and prototyping.
Strong command of graphic design tools — Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience building or contributing to a design system.
Solid grounding in typography, colour theory, grid systems, and layout.
Practical understanding of responsive and accessible design (WCAG basics).
Ability to design for complex, information-dense products — not only marketing sites and consumer apps.
Portfolio: A portfolio is mandatory. It must include at least one case study showing the problem, the process, the decisions taken, and the outcome. Applications without a portfolio link will not be reviewed.
Restrictions:
Dedicated Working Hours: The candidate must be available to work during the designated working hours as per the agreed-upon schedule.
Exclusivity: The candidate will not be allowed to engage in any other employment, consultancy, or freelance work during the period of employment with Artikate Private Limited.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience designing B2B, enterprise, or technical products — dashboards, admin consoles, monitoring tools, or command and control interfaces.
A demonstrable design philosophy — a clear position on how you approach problems, and the ability to explain it.
Working knowledge of HTML/CSS sufficient to communicate precisely with engineers.
Experience with motion design and micro-interactions (After Effects, Rive, or Figma prototyping).
Familiarity with data visualisation design principles.
Prior experience creating brand identity from scratch, including the guidelines document.
