The Role

As a Business Content Writer, you will be the voice of bataSutra's editorial authority. You won't write short churning fluff pieces; you will craft long-form, data-backed narratives that help founders, executives, and investors understand the forces shaping their industries.

You will research complex topics like working capital dynamics, AI infrastructure costs, or battery chemistry, translate them into accessible storytelling, and optimize them for how modern search engines (like Google AI Overviews) surface answers. This is a writer's role where accuracy trumps speed.

Key Responsibilities

You will operate across three core editorial pillars:

Deep-Dive Research & Long-Form Writing

Author high-quality long-form articles (800–1500+ words) on Business, Science, and Tech verticals.

Focus on "Answer Engine Optimization" (AEO): Structure content so AI models can accurately summarize your insights as answers to user queries.

Research internal/external topics: e.g., The Energy Cost of AI Inference, Working Capital Traps in Startups, or Industrial Biotechnology Shifts.

Ensure every claim is backed by credible sources (e.g., IEA, NIST, SEC filings) and includes a Fact-Check Log.

Search & Audience Optimization

Optimize content for organic visibility using long-tail keywords without keyword stuffing.

Implement internal linking strategies to keep readers on the site longer (improving dwell time).

Craft compelling headlines and hooks that balance curiosity with credibility.

Repurpose finished pieces into newsletter segments, LinkedIn threads, or social carousels as directed by Growth Consultants.

Editorial Quality & Fact-Checking

Review your own drafts against a checklist for data accuracy (especially in Finance/Science).

Collaborate with Editors to refine tone, ensuring the "Strategic Growth Consultant" authority voice is consistent.

Flag outdated data or broken links immediately using tools like Broken Link Checkers.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

Writing Excellence: A proven portfolio of long-form articles that show depth, clarity, and strong argumentation (not just news aggregation).

Research Discipline: Ability to verify claims using primary sources before publishing. No speculation or hallucinated data.

SEO Fundamentals: Understanding of how search intent works and how to structure content for readability + ranking.

Subject Matter Affinity: Background or strong interest in Business, FinTech, AI, or Science Journalism is a plus.

Communication: Professional email etiquette, ability to incorporate feedback gracefully, and async-friendly workflow (no need for micromanagement).

Nice-to-Haves

Experience writing for industry-specific publications (e.g., Fintech, VC firms, Tech blogs).

Familiarity with AI search trends and how LLMs ingest content.

Ability to write in English at a native level or near-native with perfect grammar.

Willingness to learn basic data analysis tools (Excel/Google Sheets) for visualizing research data within articles.
